Matt Waltham is Honorary Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Guy's and St. Thomas', NHS Foundation Trust in London. He is also Senior Lecturer in Vascular Surgery at Kings College,University of London. He is available for private work as a member of the London Vascular Group at London Bridge Hospital.
Matt graduated from Cambridge University in 1990 and trained at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital, St. George's Hospital, and Kings College Hospital, London. He also spent a year as Endovascular Fellow at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia.
Matt specialises in endovascular aneurysm repair and aneurysm screening and is one of the leading Consultant Surgeons in the UK for this procedure. He also specialises in carotid surgery and laser therapy for varicose veins. Matt believes in using quality, innovative methods to ensure patients’ recovery times are reduced to a minimum.
He gained his PhD from the University of London in 2003 on ‘The role of angiogenesis in venous thrombus resolution’. He has published several papers and book chapters covering both thrombus resolution and other vascular disorders.
He has won a number of prizes for his work including The Atrium Vascular Prize from the ANZAC Society for Vascular Surgery.
